3M was named Best Safety Products Supplier in the Welding World Awards held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham in April.

The inaugural awards recognised the best in the welding industry and 3M was nominated by its customers for demonstrating a passion for welding and for its commitment to working with the industry to protect workers.

In addition to supplying top-of-the-range Speedglas™ welding safety products, 3M has created a range of educational materials to support the welding industry. These include webinars for ongoing learning, an online community and care and maintenance packs to help customers protect their investment.

Last year, 3M also partnered with other Association of Welding Distribution members to educate welders on the dangers of welding fumes as part of the Bad Air Days roadshow.

Senior marketing executive for the Personal Safety Division, Jenn Raymond, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to win this award, especially as there were a number of very good companies in the running. It’s a great honour to be acknowledged in these inaugural awards and fantastic that our customers took the time to nominate us.”

The independent awards were run by Welding World and the Association of Welding Distribution.
